2.9 Principal Expressions

At the beginning of this chapter, Figure 2.2, reproduced here in Figure 2.48, introduced the sentential forms that can stand alone as active expressions in the workspace. These forms are not intended to be part of any other expression, which is why they are reachable only from the grammar start symbol. The syntax of expressions an definitions has been presented in the parts of this chapter that precede this point. This section describes the other principal expressions: transforms, paragraphs and property lists.
